Between Shows (Halloween Edition): THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

Don’t have any Halloween plans? Want to do something festive but not too scary? What better way to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve Between Shows than with the ultimate cult classic midnight movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show? For the uninitiated, Rocky Horror is a musical spoof of B-horror movies. It tells the tale of innocent newlyweds Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon, in one of her first feature film roles), whose worlds are turned upside down when they stumble upon the castle of a strange mad scientist named Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter (Tim Curry, never better). Wacky hi-jinks, great songs, and a Meat Loaf cameo ensue.

Rocky Horror actually plays every Friday and Saturday at midnight at New York’s Chelsea Clearview Cinemas, but this Halloween weekend you can catch it at added times: 9 pm AND midnight on October 26th, 27th and 31st. If you’ve never seen the movie in a theatre before, it is truly a treat. A cast performs a live floor show while the movie plays behind them and the audience is encouraged to dress up, bring props and shout at the screen.
