Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical’s acclaimed design team Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner were awarded a 2011 Tony Award® for Best Costume Design of a Musical last night twenty years after winning an Academy Award® for the hit film. This marks the first time designers have won both an Oscar® and a Tony® for designing costumes for the same title since Cecil Beaton’s double win for My Fair Lady nearly fifty years ago.
Chappel and Gardiner have won the following awards for their costume design for both Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical and the original film on which the stage production is based.
