Tony-nominated Priscilla Costume Designer Tim Chappel Gives Lady Gaga a ‘Diva’ Makeover in New York Magazine

IN NEW YORK MAGAZINE

New York Magazine recently asked some of the world’s most trend-setting image-makers to create conceptual sketches for pop music icon Lady Gaga’s next look in anticipation of the May 23 release of her latest album Born This Way. Tim Chappel, who along with Lizzy Gardiner won an Academy Award® and has been nominated for a 2011 Tony Award® for their costumes for the film and stage versions of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, created an original design for the feature.

Following hit productions in Australia, London and Toronto, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The MUSICAL opened to critical acclaim on March 20 at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway).

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert has been honored with three Best Musical award nominations from the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award organizations. Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon has received a Tony Award® nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical in addition to Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Best Actor nominations. Academy Award winning design team Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner have also been nominated for a Tony Award® for their costume design for the stage production.
