City Center Launches iPhone Ticket App; On-Screen Ticket Scan Coming
Playbill.com – by Adam Hetrick
New York City Center has announced the launch of an iPhone app that allows theatregoers to purchase tickets for all City Center performances, including Encores! and Manhattan Theatre Club productions, directly from their mobile device.
The free app includes up-to-date performance schedules, cast biographies and photos, as well as videos, behind-the-scenes interviews and special ticket offers. In the near future it will also allow for City Center employees to scan tickets directly from the iPhone screen when theatregoers purchase tickets with the app.

Faster Forward – Facebook’s Like Button to take over share functions
Washington Post – by Hayley Tsukayama
Facebook reportedly is changing the function of its “Like” button, making it more about sharing than approval.
According to Mashable, items that users like will show up in their friends’ news feeds with a picture, headline and blurb. Users will also be able to comment on other users’ liked items as well.
The like button has been evolving since its introduction. Facebook spokeswoman Malorie Lucich told Mashable in September that the company will continue to support the share feature as it moves forward, but that the Like button was the “recommended solution moving forward.” Facebook has stopped developing new features for its share button.
