New Canadian Cast Gets Rave Reviews
The new cast of the Canadian production of JERSEY BOYS just opened to rave reviews.
TORONTO STAR: 4 stars out of 4 stars. Richard Ouzounian writes “If, for some crazy reason, you still haven’t caught up with the hit Dancap production of Jersey Boys at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, or if you’d been wondering if you should pay it a second visit, then wait no longer…Tuneful, touching, terrific: this is the most entertaining show in town.” Click here to read the entire review: http://www.thestar.com/Entertainment/article/575146
TORONTO SUN: John Coulbourn writes “If you missed it in its earlier incarnation, thanks to its iconic music and its impressive staging, Jersey Boys still offers up a memorable night of theatre. The voices may have changed, but this is one jukebox that can still get the joint jumpin.” http://www.torontosun.com/entertainment/columnists/john_coulbourn/2009/01/22/8105961-sun.html
TORONTO GLOBE AND MAIL: “Jersey still sizzles with Canadian cast…Two seasons on, Jersey Boys is still packing them in at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. JERSEY BOYS is the story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. It tells the tale of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and sold 175 million records worldwide – all before they were 30.
Directed by two-time Tony Award® winner and Toronto native Des McAnuff, JERSEY BOYS is written by Academy Award winner Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, another Toronto native.
The Canadian production of JERSEY BOYS is produced by Dancap Productions Inc., Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, Pelican Group in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner.
